Travel Experiences In Africa

Guinea is one of those countries that does not get the attention it deserves. The country’s tourist industry is still in its infancy and is only beginning to take shape.
The capital Conakry has a lot to offer visitors, and you will want to make sure you stop here to see the sights. Here are some of our favorite places to visit when in Conakry.

The National Museum of Guinea – The National Museum in Guinea’s capital city of Conakry is a must-see for visitors to the country. It contains a really interesting collection of artifacts from all over Guinea, as well as from other parts of Africa. The museum is housed in a beautiful colonial-era building, and the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about the exhibits.

The Grand Mosque – The grand mosque is one of the most impressive buildings in Conakry. It’s huge and imposing, and it’s a major landmark in the city. The mosque was built in the 1970s, and it’s a beautiful example of Islamic architecture. It’s one of the most popular tourist destinations in Conakry, and it’s a must-see for anyone visiting the city.

Conakry Bay – Conakry Bay is a beautiful natural harbor with magnificent views over the city skyline and surrounding areas. It’s perfect for an evening stroll or even just sitting by yourself, taking in all that nature offers!

The Fish Market – The Fish Market is another great place to visit while you’re here as there is plenty of fresh fish available every day at reasonable prices. You can also try delicious seafood dishes such as grilled shrimp or fried calamari.

Cascades de Soumba – The waterfalls are beautiful, and there is a small village nearby. You can take a taxi for about 7,000 Guinean Francs from the city center. The road to get there is quite bumpy, but it was an adventure. There are always local people in Soumba who can show you around. They ask for money, but it’s up to you if you want to give them some money or not.

La Plage de Boulbinet – This beach is located at the end of the airport runway. It’s full of locals on weekends, and they sell all kinds of food (especially fish) and drinks. At night there are concerts where you can listen to live music and dance with locals.
